THE IMPORTANCE OF SEEING THE INDIVIDUAL

I tell a therapist. I am the one who has experienced something. What has happened is what I have lived through.

There are 2 messages here: 1. What it is that I have experienced, and 2. who I am as an individual. To be able to listen and to meet this person requires som curiosity. Some humility and respect. Definitely not control.

EXPERIENCE IS GOLD, THE INDIVIDUALS GIFT OF SOUL

Experiences are valuable. Actually they are treasures, riches. Things we need to put in the gene bank and pass on. Maybe some distant relative can use it to prevent a war, find a cure, wind down empathy disorder...

THE LIVING SOUL

But this whole opportunity goes to waist when people sort up emotional phenomenons as if it is bureaucracy, a kind of controlling. People are not things.

MY LIFE, MY FORCE

And it gets bad when professionals start telling you who you are. How you are. What you feel. What you've experienced. What you need. To create, in a real sense, an "us and them". "Us and them" thinking protects against the painful reality, our own and other people's. But when fear is allowed to rule, life force and knowledge are lost.
